My Testimony

My Testimony:
I know that the Atonement is real and that we can all enjoy the cleansing power that it provides. I am grateful for my Savior for performing the Atonement so that I can return to my Father in Heaven. I am grateful for missionary service. I am thankful that missionaries world-wide have the opportunity to bring the fullest blessings of the Atonement to faithful children of God. I know that the Bible and The Book of Mormon are inspired scriptures and are here for our behalf. I owe everything to all of those prophets of old that loved us so much and desired so much for our salvation to write down the words on how we can be saved. We are literally children of a loving Heavenly Father and He wants us to return to Him. I know that Jesus is the Christ. And I love the joy the gospel brings with the knowledge that we can be together with our families for all eternity.

Medical Release

Cory arrived home Monday morning (July 12th) for his pre-op visit with Dr. Ollerton, the Podiatrist performing his surgery today.  After the first day he was so bored after being so busy all of the time.  He opted to not take us up on any of the options for church books/DVDs.



So far he has done well today following surgery which ended up being more involved.  Things are good now but because of his joint characteristics he may have issues later in life (don't we all?).  He will go back to see Dr. Ollerton on July 20th.  As of now the doctor said he should be 80% healed in 6 weeks.  Cory is in a walking boot so at least he is a little more mobile than we originally thought he might be.

Email Update: July 7, 2010

Hello family this will be my last update to you before I come home.
This past transfer has been my hardest yet in the mission. Almost all of our appointments this transfer have fallen through. We still have pretty much no one in our teaching pool. Our top investigator fell asleep in our lesson the other week then we thought she died but we just found out the other day that she isn't dead but is in the hospital. We are still trying so hard to find people and are having little success. This would make it sound like I would be discouraged right.... Well I have never been so happy in my life to be a missionary. Every time I pray for my investigator, less actives, and thank my Heavenly Father for this opportunity I have to be a missionary, it brings me to tears. I love being a missionary - I love it so much. I can see why these are referred to as the best two years.
I am glad to hear y'all enjoyed your 4th of July weekend. Holidays in the mission are definitely the hardest. July 3rd-5th President Hansen asked that all the missionaries be in by 7:30 pm instead of the usual time at 9-9:30 pm because of the holiday.
I haven't really heard much about the information about me going home and what will happen. All I know is that I leave July 12th at 7 am. I am sure I will learn more during the week. But I plan on finishing this week strong before I go home. I love Texas I know why know I have been called here. I love the people here, I love the missionaries I serve with, and I love my Mission President. I'll see y'all in a few days.
