My Testimony

My Testimony:
I know that the Atonement is real and that we can all enjoy the cleansing power that it provides. I am grateful for my Savior for performing the Atonement so that I can return to my Father in Heaven. I am grateful for missionary service. I am thankful that missionaries world-wide have the opportunity to bring the fullest blessings of the Atonement to faithful children of God. I know that the Bible and The Book of Mormon are inspired scriptures and are here for our behalf. I owe everything to all of those prophets of old that loved us so much and desired so much for our salvation to write down the words on how we can be saved. We are literally children of a loving Heavenly Father and He wants us to return to Him. I know that Jesus is the Christ. And I love the joy the gospel brings with the knowledge that we can be together with our families for all eternity.

Email Update: Week 5/17/10 - 5/23/10

We didn't realize Cory's foot was causing so much pain for him.    He had bunion surgery on the other foot a few years ago.  We would appreciate your prayers that this will be resolved and he can continue on his mission.

Hey Family, sorry this e-mail is going to be rushed again we have a busy day today.  I saw Dr. Jensen again because my toe still hurts.  He sprayed this thing on my foot that instantly froze my foot to where it was numb (that was a cool feeling - no pun intended :p) and he injected this liquid stuff into my toe and when it was all said and done, my toe looked like it was injected with a golf ball - it was huge!  I wish I could've gotten some pictures but maybe in another 3 weeks when I get another injection.  Sister Hansen is trying everything in her power to keep me out here because bunion surgery is one that you are required to go home to have.  So hopefully y'all won't be seeing me anytime soon.

Quick note, this week was so dang hard.  When you're down Satan just keeps coming after you.  Just little things throughout this week just chipped away at me over time from an investigator dropping us to having no one sign up on the dinner calendar for the week.  But at the end of the week I don't know why I am sad because we gave one of our investigators (Cynthia Ray) a baptismal date for June 12 and she accepted.  And Elder Foster and I are going to give Amber Marshall a baptismal date as well.  So when you look for happiness you will find it, when you look for sadness you can find that as well.

Upward and onward,
- Elder Barton

This is Amber.  I've been talking about her since she broke her elbow.  This is after teaching a lesson in Senior Primary
